Everyone should have received the first newsletter and our Guidelines
and Policies note, along with the new enrolment form. All new families
were asked to carefully read these notes and complete the enrolment
form. However, many student’s forms have not been returned yet, kindly
return as soon as possible. We have also updated our website to include
more detailed and important information including the above policies of
CWDA and extra uniform details. Please check to see if you’re up to
date with this information. Newsletters will be available on our
website to keep you updated with any events happening within the
studio. A lot of time and effort goes into the newsletters so please
ensure you read them. We also display our newsletters and other
important information on our noticeboard, and upload them to our
Facebook page. It is important that all parents and students are well
informed about any upcoming events or important news.

Uniform and Grooming
– I’d like to request that parents please ensure your child has the
correct uniform. New students are given a grace period of a few weeks
before purchasing the uniform. All students also need to have hair that
is tied up and off their face. Ballet students must wear hair in a bun
with fringes pinned back. Students are also required to wear dance
shoes for class. Students ordering the new full length track pants from
Duckies are advised to place their order now, in order for them to be
ready in time for the cold weather. If ordering new uniform items such
as jackets, shorts, crop tops and t-shirts from Duckies please place
the order with Nicole Angell (Caitlin’s mum). Her phone number is: -
0410 531 912. A very big thank you to Nicole for all her help with the
ordering of these uniforms!
I’d like to remind everyone that under
no circumstance is there is to be any food brought into the waiting
room or studio. Food is to be eaten outside before entering the studio.
Students will be asked to take food outside if they bring it into the
building. This also includes soft drinks and slushies, etc. Water is
the only drink to be brought to class.
Good luck to all students in the upcoming eisteddfod.

singlets, crop tops, t-shirts, shorts, 3/4 pants, jazz pants and
jackets. Orders need to be placed with Nicole Angell (Caitlin’s mum) on
041 531912 and payment must be handed to her before the order can be
placed with Duckies. There’s a price list for these uniform items on

Students purchasing shoes and our leotards can do so from
Flight Dance Supplies (Tuggerah), Erina Danzwear; or Dance Stuff (East
Gosford). Please note that pink leather ballet shoes must be the Bloch
brand and split-sole are preferred. Please do not purchase other brands
as they are not an accepted part of our uniform.

New Uniform Items:
Duckies are now able to make to order new long trackpants to match our

We are planning on entering many of last year’s concert groups again in
Dancelife Unite competition to be held 1-2nd April. All students are
asked to keep this weekend free for this competition.
The following groups will be competing: -
10/u, 12/u, 14/u, 13 -17 yrs, and senior dances from the concert. Also
competing will be The Lakehouse, The Toy Shop and possibly some of the
other 8/u dances from the concert. TBA as soon as possible.
student is required to pay $5 per group they’re competing in to cover
entry fees in this competition. This is payable now, so we can finalise
entries. Please pay in a separate envelope to normal fees and label
with name and ‘Eisteddfod entry fee’.
Please ensure you’ve read the new timetable for 2017. There are some
slight changes for this year, including the introduction of a Boys Hip
Hop class. We’d love to encourage any interested boys to try a couple
of classes to see if they like hip hop. No previous experience is
necessary. Please let us know if interested. We currently have boys
aged between 5 and 9 years of age.
I’d like to encourage our jazz
and tap students to consider taking ballet classes. To be a serious
dancer, ballet is an essential tool in gaining the necessary technique
for all other dance styles. It also teaches poise, good posture and
self-discipline, all valuable assets to have in life.
CWDA offers private lessons to students for solos, duos and trios. We
believe students benefit from private lessons as they receive
individual attention, gain extra confidence and increase their ability,
skills and performance qualities. Students MUST do weekly classes to be
eligible for private lessons.
Please remember to keep the
waiting room noise to a minimum this year, as the noise is a
distraction to teachers and students. Also there is to be no food
brought into the waiting room at any time, this includes drinks and
slushies. Students are asked to bring only water to class.
The following are a few points to remember for those new to the school:-
1. Please park at rear of the studio at all times (main studio).
Parents are asked not to wait upstairs while lessons are in progress.
We need to keep noise to a minimum, so as not to disrupt lessons (main
3. Watching days for parents are at the end of term one and
two. Please watch the notice board and newsletters for these dates.
There are no watching days in terms 3 or 4, as we prepare for the exams
4. All fees must be paid up to date at all times. Please put all fees in an envelope with name and date.
5. Fees are payable even if your child is absent.
We love to discuss your child's progress. But please realise we have
the next class to begin and need to keep these discussions brief.
All siblings of students must be supervised by their parents at all
times when in the waiting room (main studio). Please keep them off the
stairs, away from windows, toilets, and don’t allow them to run around
or slam the doors. Similarly it’s the responsibility of parents to
ensure your child is sitting quietly while waiting for their class to
